WHERE TO STAY:
BOULDER
We recommend staying in Boulder if you want access to public transportation, to visit neighboring areas like Denver, if you are looking for more affordable accommodations, or if you need to adjust to the elevation for a day or two.
ESTES PARK
If you want to venture further up into the peaks, stay in Estes Park, a beautiful mountain town situated next to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the home of H-Bar-G Ranch, where the reception will take place.

Dining
If you’re looking for fine dining in Boulder, we recommend Basta, Cozobi Fonda Fina, or Gold Hill Inn. For more affordable fare, we recommend Efrain’s, Barchetta, Nana’s Dim Sum, and Pupusas Lover 2. Walnut Cafe (north or south side locations) and Fleischman’s Bagels are our go-tos for breakfast.
Bakeries
Just outside Estes Park is Glen Haven, a tiny town with a general store that sells the best cinnamon rolls. One of our favorite bakeries, Moxie, has three locations in Boulder, Louisville, and Lyons (on the drive between Boulder and Estes). Dry Storage is worth a trip as well.
Coffee
Kind Coffee in Estes Park is great. In Boulder, we recommend Boxcar and Trident.
Cocktails
If you want to grab a cocktail in Boulder, we recommend Jungle, Bitter Bar, Siren, or License No. 1. For a beer and a bite, go to Mountain Sun or Southern Sun. The best dive bar is the Outback Saloon.
Hiking
Boulder is home to an extensive network of trails. If you’ve never visited, some essential options are Woods Quarry, Royal Arch, and Mount Sanitas.
Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Be aware that you will need to reserve a timed entry to enter the park. Emerald Lake, Gem Lake, and Chasm Lake are all stunning. If you are coming from sea level, please be careful, pack water, and take time to acclimate!
By the Water
Wade in or walk along Boulder Creek, cutting through the center of the city. Up in Estes Park, you could rent a paddle board or take the loop trail around Lake Estes.
Biking
Boulder has a great system of bike trails. You can rent a bike from a number of local shops but our favorite is University Cycles.
Botanic Gardens
Located in Denver, it’s a wonderful place to stroll for an afternoon.
Museum of Contemporary Art
A great little museum in central Boulder. Stop by the Dushanbe Teahouse next door if you visit.
Butterfly Pavilion
This one-of-a-kind destination features an indoor rainforest, complete with hundreds of colorful butterflies. A Colorado essential located between Boulder and Denver in Westminster.
Bookstores
Boulder Bookstore is a local spot with over 150,000 titles to choose from. An essential part of any stroll down Pearl Street.
